Look no further than the Bed & Breakfast Le Mas des Amandiers when visiting St Paul de Vence and other gems of the Côte d'Azur. Facing St Paul (famous for its artists, unique hill-top location and architecture), Le Mas des Amandiers is an exquisite contrast to St Paul. A blissful haven of greenery and calm, our cherished oasis can be yours too, any time of year. Enjoy stunning viewsof the ramparts of the medieval village from our typical provencale villa. Our four guest rooms accommodate 10 to 12 people in total. Each has air conditioning, a private toilet and bathroom, outdoor terrace, and breathtaking views; two have kitchenettes. The magnificent overflow swimming pool (available 9:00-21:00), amidst 3500 m² of developing gardens are here for all guests to enjoy.
St Paul de Vence and the famous Fondation Maeght modern art museum are both about 1 kilometre away. Nearby too are Nice (16km), Grasse (8 km), Antibes (12 km), Cannes (21 km), Monaco, Ezes, Cap Ferrat and, for that matter Italy, including the famous San Remo market. The closest beaches are 5 kilometres away, and for children (of all ages!), Marineland is 9 km away. Your hostess Wendy will warmly welcome you and will help ensure a memorable holiday.
Start each day by soaking in the tantalising views of St Paul de Vence at breakfast (between 8:30 and 10:00am). The views will whet your appetite for the abundance of activities nearby or help you relive the previous day's experiences.
While we are still exploring the history of our home, one of our charming older neighbours, who has longed lived here, tells us that in times past Rose de Mai and Fleur d'Oranger were grown here for nearby perfume distilleries, as were artichoke, olives, tomatoes, almonds etc – quite simply the full array of fruit and vegetables that are synonymous with our Mediterranean climate and lifestyle. As we develop the grounds, Wendy wants to reconnect with that history, for our enjoyment and that of our guests.
Already some of the most instantly recognisable produce of our area is reflected in the naming of the four bedrooms available to you – L’Olivier, Le Noisetier, L’Amandier and L’Abricotier. And it is not just the names that are distinctive. Each room has its own character. We know from our travel experiences over many years, individually and as a family, that it is the special touches that can make all the difference to the holiday experience. We want you to experience that something extra when you stay with us. Three of our bedrooms, L’Olivier, Le Noisetier, L’Amandier are in front of the swimming pool. Each room has a small terrace, adjoining the pool, from which you can enjoy a superb view of the village and the facing hills.
Each room has air conditioning, a television and a refrigerator. L’Amandier and L’Abricotier both have kitchenettes.
Generally, the fact that Le Mas de
Amandiers is so close to St Paul de Vence but also
set back from it, with the tranquility that that brings. Specifically,
the facilities we have and the attention to detail Wendy offers. This
includes the high standard of the presentation of the rooms and breakfast
and also her willingness to help you choose from the wide range of things
to do, places to visit, and art galleries, restaurants, cafes, to enjoy
locally.
We never cease to feel that we have found our piece of heaven on earth here at St Paul de Vence; that this truly is a place to get in touch with all of ones senses - sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. Each is heightened here. We feel incredibly privileged and welcome the opportunity to share our good fortune with you, even if only for a night or two.
